Train the Teacher (T3) Program

T3 workshops provide Adobe software training to K-12 educators in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, California, and Puget Sound, Washington. These workshops provide teachers with the opportunity to learn how to incorporate digital applications into the classroom across a range of curricular activities, using a variety of Adobe products. Designed around real classroom projects and offered for free or a nominal administrative charge, teachers are given the time and support they need to become proficient at using digital media in their own classrooms. T3, launched in June 2006, is the second phase of the Adobe Teach the Teacher program, which began in 2002.

Course eligibility

T3 courses are offered by Adobe T3 partners to K-12 educators in their service area. Teachers interested in training should already have general computer skills and a basic working knowledge of their operating system, as well as know how to open, print, save, and close files.

Course offerings

Adobe T3 partners provide a series of courses that cover a full range of Adobe products over three years. The goal is to provide an environment that enables teachers to feel comfortable with Adobe technology and that supports experimenting with the tools within the context of their daily classroom activities.

Three modules are currently available: T3 How-To, T3 Project Classroom, and the T3 Summer Institute. How-To will feature clusters of modules for specific applications; Project Classroom will incorporate modules from a range of applications to complete a project; and the Summer Institute will provide an extensive professional development forum.

This year instruction is being offered, and Train the Teacher modules are being developed for, Adobe® Photoshop®, Illustrator®, InDesign®, and Acrobat® software. The modules are for trainers to use in the instruction of teachers and will be tested over the summer and available online in the fall of 2007.

Digital classroom community T3 Fellows

The T3 Fellows program will recognize the contribution and leadership of exemplary teachers who use Adobe products to create extraordinary educational experiences for their students. This program will recognize these outstanding contributions, offer ongoing professional development opportunities for the fellows, and create a community of teachers who will share their work to inspire creativity and imagination in their peers. Additionally, an online gallery will highlight the fellows' work, display project samples, and house tutorials for integrating Adobe products into the classroom.

Teachers chosen as T3 Fellows will receive software and funds to support their ongoing work. Applications for T3 Fellows will be available in fall 2007.
