As senior vice president and general manager of Adobe's Digital Media Solutions Business Unit, John Loiacono leads the development of Adobe's creative and rich media solutions which empower digital artists and storytellers to transform powerful ideas into great content—both in business and in everyday life. Loiacono is also responsible for driving imaging and video solutions for mobile devices and addressing Adobe's significant market opportunities in advertising. He oversees Adobe flagship brands such as Adobe Photoshop®, Photoshop.com, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom ®, Adobe Premiere Pro®, Adobe After Effects® and Adobe OnLocation.
Prior to joining Adobe, Loiacono served as executive vice president of software at Sun Microsystems with responsibility for software technologies including the Solaris operating system, Java, Java Enterprise System suites, Java developer tools and StarOffice. During his 19 years at Sun, he also served as general manager of Sun's operating platform group, chief marketing officer, and held positions in both sales and marketing.
Loiacono holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Fresno State University. He serves on the boards of the Adobe Foundation, a global philanthropic organization focused on driving positive social change and community improvement; and Design Ignites Change, a program promoting and encouraging talented high school and college students in the U.S. to use design thinking and innovation in creating messages for and solutions to complex social problems. He is also a founding board member of the Justin Perkins Foundation, an organization aimed at recognizing young people who sacrifice their personal time to serve those in need.
