Adobe Shatters the Limits of Web Site Creativity with LiveMotion 1.0
Over 360,000 Downloads of Public Beta Sets Stage for First Customer Shipment of Product

San Jose, Calif., (May 22, 2000) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in digital publishing for Web, print and dynamic media, today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® LiveMotion™ software, a new Web graphics and animation tool for professional Web designers and developers.

Anticipation for availability of LiveMotion has been surging since the introduction of the public beta on the Adobe.com Web site in March. Over 360,000 Web designers and developers have downloaded the beta software, and just last month LiveMotion won the Best of Show Award in the Web Design Software category at Spring Internet World 2000 in Los Angeles.

"We are thrilled to use Adobe LiveMotion as a new software tool in producing our global branded animation franchises for the Internet," states Stephen Brain, executive vice-president of production for Stan Lee Media. "It is a tremendous timesaver for our digital animation production staff, enabling us to work seamlessly with other Adobe products for web design. LiveMotion is going to help take web animation to another level."

LiveMotion allows Web designers and developers to work with maximum efficiency and productivity while exercising unlimited creative freedom by offering intuitive and flexible features. For example, users have the ability to draw or import vector images, independently animate an object’s attributes directly within the object-based timeline, use named labels to cue events, and assign interactive behaviors to individual objects. LiveMotion works with time-based rather than frame-based animation, and it supports native layered Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator® files. Additionally, LiveMotion offers extreme flexibility by offering output options to a wide range of graphics formats, including GIF, JPEG, PNG, Photoshop, and the popular SWF format. LiveMotion will also support the W3C’s Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format in a future release of the product.

LiveMotion is tightly integrated with Adobe’s family of professional Web design tools for the Web and dynamic media, including Adobe GoLive®, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects®.
