Adobe Enables Web Developers to Deliver Wireless Web Content for WML and i-mode

Seybold, San Francisco (August 28, 2000) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in digital publishing for Web, print and dynamic media, today announced extensions to Adobe® GoLive® 5.0 for two leading wireless formats, Wireless Markup Language (WML) and i-mode. The extensions give Web professionals the ability to design, deploy and manage mobile dynamic Web sites targeted for e-Business. By working with global leaders in the wireless community, including Nokia, Razorfish, and leading i-mode developers, Adobe has enabled its GoLive 5.0 developers to deliver Web experiences to wireless Web customers around the world.

Adobe also announced its membership in the WAP Forum™, the industry association responsible for developing and fostering the growth of the Wireless Application Protocol. WAP/WML Module
Nokia, the worldwide leader in mobile Internet and wireless technology, welcomed Adobe's efforts to bring a new WML Extension to Adobe GoLive 5.0. Adobe GoLive 5.0 software fully supports the WAP specification and enables wireless Web development with Nokia WAP servers and Nokia handsets. "Adobe's new version of GoLive provides powerful tools to developers of Web sites, dynamic e-business applications and wireless devices and most importantly provides support for the WAP specification," said Monica Hamilton, director of Global Strategic Partnerships at Nokia Internet Communications. "The WML Extension for GoLive will accelerate the next generation of content for wireless devices around the world."

Razorfish, a leading digital solutions provider, is a market definer within the field of mobile solutions. Having developed one of the first WAP services in the world, Razorfish is building out mobile platforms to enable the vision of instant information whenever and wherever one needs it. "Utilizing the extensible architecture of the Adobe GoLive 5.0 SDK, we were able to develop a robust WML extension for GoLive 5.0," said Josh Rubin, director of Mobile Solutions at Razorfish. i-mode Module
In Japan, the number of NTT DoCoMo i-mode customers has exceeded 10 million users. The i-mode extension for GoLive 5.0 allows Web developers to create Compact Hyper Text Markup Language (cHTML) for NTT DoCoMo i-mode handset deployment. "For the R. Newbold i-mode site, we needed a solution that allowed our creative designer to create i-mode pages quickly while I focused on PHP scripting and database integration," said George Baptista, partner and CTO of Studio Omame (Omame.com), a web development firm based in Tokyo specializing in strategic strategy, information design and user experience. Studio Omame produced the R. Newbold site for Paul Smith, a worldwide premier clothing designer. "GoLive 5.0 provided us with collaboration capabilities through WebDAV, powerful site design and management tools, and the i-mode extension for creating wireless content."

Availability
The i-mode module will be available with the shipping version of Adobe GoLive 5.0-J in Japan. Additionally, the i-mode English and WAP/WML modules will be available by August 31, 2000 from Adobe.com.
