Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Wins Enthusiastic Customer and Industry Approval in the First Month of Shipping
San Jose, Calif., (October 16, 2000) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in digital publishing for the Web, print and dynamic media, today announced that within the first month of shipping, Adobe® Photoshop® 6.0 is enjoying rave reviews and an overwhelmingly positive response from customers and press. Photoshop 6.0, the newest version of Adobe's flagship product, is a major upgrade to the world's leading professional image editing software. It delivers powerful new features including improved Web workflow, vector functionality, and a streamlined interface that are quickly becoming indispensable to users and have already earned industry honors for the product.

At Seybold San Francisco 2000, the premier tradeshow for the Web and print publishing markets, Photoshop 6.0 won a Seybold “Hot Pick” award, which highlights new products, technologies and services that are particularly relevant to professional publishing and reflect the future direction of the industry. Also at the Seybold show, Creative Mac, an online magazine for designers, honored Photoshop 6.0 as “Best of Show”, selecting it as the winner over products from 350 other exhibitors.

Photoshop customers are echoing the sentiments of the trade press, which has celebrated the product with dozens of positive reviews. For Web designers, the combination of new vector drawing tools and powerful rollover styles helps them work more quickly without the need for other image editing and Web graphics products.

"Photoshop 6.0, and in particular its integrated ImageReady component, has been a godsend to me, replacing three other disparate tools: Fireworks, Graphic Converter and JPEG Convert that were once a big part of my workflow. I love the way Photoshop 6.0 and ImageReady work together—they are a site developer's dream tools," says Pascal, site developer at Sapient Corporation, a San Francisco-based Web design firm.

Other popular enhancements to Photoshop 6.0 – a powerful new type engine and streamlined interface – offer huge productivity gains for all users, regardless of whether they are creating content for the Web or print.

"Photoshop 6.0 is HOT!" exclaimed Fred Kahl of Funny Garbage, a full-service design and production firm in New York. "The enhanced layer management and type tools are a huge plus, as is the ability to turn on and off sets of layers. This is the Photoshop we've been waiting for."
