SAN JOSE, Calif., (Dec. 12, 2000) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--In conjunction with its announcement of Adobe® Premiere® 6.0 software at Streaming Media West, Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced it is providing a new level of support for digital video output to Microsoft Windows Media. Microsoft Corp. worked closely with Adobe to develop an Advanced Windows Media Export feature, which enables Adobe Premiere 6.0 users to export their video projects to the Web for playback using the Microsoft Windows Media Player. Users will be able to take advantage of advanced export features that provide precise output control through a wide range of formatting options to generate high-quality video for any bandwidth in Windows Media Format. "The greater accessibility of digital video cameras has made it easier than ever to transmit video from cameras to computers, to the Web," said David Trescot, group manager, Dynamic Media, Adobe Systems Incorporated. "Our relationship with Microsoft supports our Network Publishing vision by making the creation and delivery of visually rich, digital video content even more attainable." "Adobe Premiere will help fuel the growth of streaming media on the Internet by delivering rich, dynamic content at a variety of bandwidths," said Dave Fester, general manager of marketing for Microsoft's Digital Media Division.
