Adobe Releases Two Powerful New Collections for Streaming Media and Digital Video

San Jose, Calif. (April 9, 2001) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, today introduced two new product collections designed to meet the needs of industry professionals and to support its leadership in streaming media digital video content creation—the Adobe® Streaming Media Collection and the Adobe Digital Video Collection. The Adobe Streaming Media Collection combines tools that empower users to create compelling and dynamic websites, by adding interactive animations and streaming audio and video content. The Adobe Digital Video Collection provides a powerful set of tools that are capable of producing professional-quality video presentations for film, video, multimedia and the Web.

With the increase in broadband access over the past year, there has been a surge of interest in digital video, streaming media and the ability to add dynamic content to Web sites. Adobe recognized the need for a comprehensive set of tools that allow professionals to create compelling video projects for the Web, streamlining their workflows and increasing their productivity, without burdening them with a complicated learning process.

The Adobe Streaming Media Collection is a brand new collection comprised of award-winning Adobe products including: Adobe Premiere®, Adobe After Effects®, Adobe LiveMotion™, and Adobe GoLive®. This collection is the first of its kind to offer comprehensive streaming media and interactive animation creation with powerful Web capabilities. It supports all industry-leading streaming media and popular Web animation formats including Apple QuickTime, Real Networks RealPlayer and Microsoft Windows Media Player.

“Companies are constantly looking for ways to make their Web sites more visually attractive and build a high-impact Web presence,” said Ron Okamoto, vice president of Graphics and Dynamic Media for Adobe. “Our goal is to provide the most powerful, integrated and cost-effective set of streaming media tools to the professional market, enabling them to turn their creative visions into reality.”

The Adobe Digital Video Collection, formerly known as the Adobe Dynamic Media Collection, is comprised of Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop®, and Adobe Illustrator®. It delivers a tightly integrated, cost-effective, professional set of video production tools for creating digital video. The Adobe Digital Video Collection is also available in a Production Bundle version (English only), providing a significant amount of additional sophisticated motion graphics and visual effects features.

“As interest in digital video and streaming media continues to grow, we expect that the new Adobe Collections will be well received by business professionals,” said Wanda Meloni, principal analyst of M2 Research. “The Adobe Collections provide a comprehensive suite of tools that give users the flexibility and control to build compelling rich media content for the Web.”
