Adobe One of Two Silicon Valley Companies Ranked as a top 10 Employer SAN JOSE, Calif. — January 7, 2003 (NASDAQ: ADBE) — Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, today announced that it was named by FORTUNE magazine as the fifth best American company to work for in the magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" annual report. Adobe's ranking for 2002 jumped twenty-two slots from its ranking in the previous year. The rankings are currently available at www.fortune.com . "We are honored that Adobe was one of only two Silicon Valley technology companies to make the top ten list of American employers this year," said Bruce Chizen, president and CEO of Adobe. "Our rapid ascent to the top of the list shows that what we do as a company is important, but how we do it is even more important. The core values of respect, integrity and innovation that Adobe was founded on 20 years ago are very much alive and well today. Having employees who feel valued and proud of where they work, especially in the current economy, makes the recognition even better." Assisted by the Great Places to Work Institute that created the survey, FORTUNE polled 40,713 employees from the 1,000 U.S-based companies considered for the listing. The Great Places to Work Trust Index assessed the companies through an evaluation of services, benefits and salaries, as well as through employee questionnaires that evaluate trust in management, pride in work and in the company, and camaraderie.
