The Adobe® statement regarding year 2000 readiness of Adobe software products applies to all Adobe products currently shipping and those software products shipping as of January 1, 1999, as listed below. The Adobe Year 2000 statement is set forth in the letter from Adobe included on this web site.

If you are using an earlier version of an Adobe product that is not on this list, we recommend that you upgrade to the currently shipping version. Adobe cannot test discontinued products, prior versions of Adobe products or products no longer licensed by Adobe. If the product you are using is not on this list, it may be (i) a discontinued product, (ii) a product that is no longer owned or licensed by Adobe, (iii) a product that is distributed by another company, (iv) an earlier Adobe product that has been incorporated into another Adobe product or (v) a localized version of a product that is currently undergoing testing.

Adobe expects to complete its Year 2000 testing of localized versions of products by September 15, 1999. In addition, the Year 2000 readiness of all new products released in 1999 and early 2000 will be added to this list as such products are shipped by Adobe. Please check this list again if the language version of the product you are using is not listed.

In some few instances the Year 2000 testing performed on these products uncovered minor anomalies in the way a product represents date information. These exceptions do not impair the functionality of the product and are noted by an asterisk (*) in front of the product. At the end of this product list you will find a brief explanation of each exception and the suggested work around.

A special note on Adobe PostScript products that are embedded in PostScript Printer products:

The Adobe PostScript technology deliverable made by Adobe for PostScript printer products uses either the C-Exec or the VxWorks operating system, neither of which has any concept of calendar time or date. So there is no mechanism intrinsic to the operating system that could cause it to be sensitive to any particular date. Thus there is no mechanism intrinsic to the Adobe-supplied code that could cause it to be sensitive to any particular date and no method to set or change a date within the PostScript code.

Adobe Type on Call 4.2 Windows exception:
Type on Call Purchaser Payment Information considers post-1999 dates to be invalid and will not allow them to be saved.
Workaround:
Enter 1999 or 99 and then correct the printed fax order form by hand prior to faxing the order.

Adobe Type on Call 4.2 Macintosh exception:
Type on Call Purchaser Payment Information allows Y2K two-digit years to be entered, but when saved it displays them with the prefix 19 instead of 20.
Workaround:
Enter the Y2K full four-digit year/date and it will be displayed correctly.

Adobe Acrobat Distiller 3.0x exception:
Distiller 3.0x for Windows® and UNIX® platforms, when run by itself after December 31, 1999, puts an incorrect date in the internal Document Information Creation Date field of the PDF file.
Suggestion:
For Windows, upgrade to Acrobat 4.0.
For UNIX platforms, a patch to correct this problem is available.

Adobe After Effects 3.1.x Windows exception:
Does not correctly calculate Year 2000 as a leap year after 2/29/00. Dates off by 1 day in display.
Workaround:
Upgrade to After Effects 4.0.
