Adobe academic discounted software is available for students, teachers, staff, and institutions. You can purchase software for your personally owned computer or those owned by your school. See if you or your school is eligible for low education prices. The following requirements apply to the United States and Canada.

Is my institution eligible?

To see if you can purchase software for your school at education discounts, check the following list of eligible types of institutions. Accredited schools can also purchase products through special Adobe Volume Licensing programs. Learn more ›

  1. Accredited public or private primary, secondary, vocational or higher education school providing full-time instruction. This includes nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, grammar schools, schools for the handicapped, teacher training colleges, technical colleges, further education colleges, research institutes, adult education centres, and State run or State subsidised facilities for the retraining of the unemployed where the government funds more than 50% of the courses. Note: School Site Licences are available to qualifying state funded and independently funded schools only, located at a single address or identified as a single site by the Department/Ministry of Education. These site licences are not available to postsecondary or higher education institutions.
  2. Administrative offices or boards of education of Educational Establishments (for their own use)
  3. Education-related membership organizations, e. g. student unions, teachers’ unions or education associations and other organizations at Adobe’s discretion.
  4. Individual named educational entities approved by Adobe in writing, if not already listed by Adobe’s website
  5. Hospitals that are wholly owned and operated by an Educational Establishment. Wholly owned and operated means the Educational Establishment is sole owner of the hospital and the only entity exercising control over day-to-day operations.
  6. Research laboratories that are a public establishment and recognised as such, teach students as part of their research mission, and are affiliated with a university or are controlled by a Ministry of Education or comparable entity
  7. Educational consortia and systems: Corporations and associations validly organised and existing under the laws of the Territory, whereby each member or shareholder of which is an accredited school
  8. Other qualified examples as listed by Adobe from time to time on its website
Unqualified institutions

Unqualified institutions include:

  1. Nonaccredited schools and religious organizations
  2. Museums
  3. Churches
  4. Libraries
  5. Hospitals in Canada
  6. Training centers or schools granting certificates for courses such as computer software training, including, without limitation: Ziff Davis University, Learning Tree University, New Horizon Computer Learning Center, Teacher Training Centers
  7. Military schools that do not grant academic degrees
  8. Research laboratories not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Canadian/Provincial Ministries of Education, for example, institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense or Energy or the National Research Council Canada. In addition, laboratories in the U.S. defined as Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) are not eligible. Examples include: Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
  9. Other unqualified examples as listed by Adobe from time to time on its website
Proof of eligibility

Adobe requires resellers to authenticate qualified educational institutions according to the following policies. This information is part of the signed agreement between Adobe and the reseller. Adobe also requires identification for purchases through the Educational Institution Store.

Appropriate identification means one of the following:

  1. A valid, official purchase order issued by an educational entity
  2. Current credit card information with the proper name, billing address, and delivery address of the educational entity
  3. A current personal credit card or check payment from a faculty or staff member with a delivery address of the educational entity
  4. Other appropriate identification as permitted by Adobe from time to time by posting a list of such identification on its website

In the U.S., such associations include: Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
