Management/deployment
Software asset management (SAM)
Organizations that license software products on an ongoing basis understand the importance of identifying and implementing strategies that maximize the return on their software investments and help ensure the safety of their data, IT infrastructure, and ultimately their business. SAM is the practice of creating and maintaining a record of all your organization's licenses, terms and conditions, systems inventories, and software use.

Licensing tips
- Streamline software acquisition and reduce environmental impact with ESD
- Did you know that most Adobe licenses are available via ESD? That means you can download your software from the Adobe LWS instead of waiting for physical media to be delivered. ESD reduces the amount of media (CDs and DVDs) and packaging manufactured and shipped to your organization, which not only helps the environment but can save you both time and money. ESD is free of charge with all three AVL programs.
- TLP: Create a single customer ID number
- Be sure to place all your TLP orders under the same customer ID number. This will help ensure that you can efficiently track your entire history of Adobe software volume licensing orders within Adobe's LWS.
- CLP: Use one monthly purchase order for additional licenses
- Save time and administrative resources by consolidating the additional software licenses you deploy each month onto one monthly purchase order. Administering the needs of a business, government agency, or educational institution today can be complex and time-consuming. You never know when you're going to need more Adobe software licenses for mission-critical processes that keep your organization running smoothly. But creating purchase requests, placing orders, and waiting for delivery can create unnecessary administrative overhead and take too much time. The CLP enables you to deploy additional seats of current-version software your organization has already licensed whenever you need them and reconcile those new deployments with one purchase order at the end of the month.
- EA: Simplify the deployment of additional licenses with annual true-ups
- Streamline software deployment and the administrative hassles of purchasing additional licenses with the Adobe Enterprise Agreement (EA) licensing program. Simply install additional licenses when you need them and then settle the costs of those additional licenses on each anniversary of your EA enrollment with one purchase order.
- CLP: Quickly check your discount level
- Did you know that the Discount Level Calculator can show the points and SKUs associated with products, upgrades, and Upgrade Plan? In addition, you can enter the number of points you currently have in your CLP membership, and a chart will show you how many points you need to qualify for the next discount level.
- Get peace of mind and simplify your purchase process with Upgrade Plan
- When you cover your license purchases with Upgrade Plan, you will be automatically notified when new versions become available. You can access your upgrades either through ESD or via CD/DVD media, and you are guaranteed all upgrades for your covered products during the term of Upgrade Plan.
- Upgrade Plan
- TLP: Check your discount level thresholds
- Before you place a TLP order, check the Discount Level Calculator to see what discount level you will qualify for and how many points you need to qualify for the next level. Remember that the higher the level, the lower price you get per license. You may need only a few more licenses to get better pricing.
- CLP: Extend membership benefits to your affiliates to maximize savings
- Did you know that your affiliated organizations can become affiliates under your CLP program membership? Not only does CLP membership offer your organization significant savings on volume purchases as well as the opportunity to increase your discount level over time, but it can also do the same for your affiliates. The best part is that your affiliates' purchases earn the same great savings your organization already enjoys while contributing to the combined program member points total — for even greater savings for all. Even small orders from small organizations count toward your discount level, which helps your affiliates acquire licenses at discounts they may not have qualified for on their own while potentially enhancing the overall benefits you receive as a CLP member.
- EA 2 and CLP 5: Better together
- AVL customers can maximize their overall savings on Adobe software by participating in both EA 2 and CLP 5. Existing CLP customers can leverage their current CLP discount level for their initial EA purchase as well as additional purchases throughout their three-year EA term. And as an EA customer, you can earn CLP points on your Acrobat and Creative Suite purchases to contribute to your overall CLP discount levels. CLP membership is not required for EA 2 customers, but it is recommended. To achieve the greatest benefits both programs have to offer, you should become a CLP member — if you aren't already — before you enroll in EA 2.
