The AWM is Australia's largest war memorial and war museum, located in Canberra, Australia's capital city. The newly opened WWII gallery showcases and commemorates Australia's contribution to the war effort.

This image is one of ten commissioned for the War Memorial's www site. The wing of the Spitfire airplane at the top of the image appears distorted because that part of the panorama actually represents the zenith of a sphere, spread flat into rectangular mapping. In reality, the wing is directly overhead!
