Creating an animated seamless backdrop page: 1 2 3
Set an Offset value.
Set an Offset value that will wrap one layer across the composition a single time during the duration of the project. In the Timeline window, move the current-time marker to the end of the composition and select the layer you want to move the slowest. In either the Effect Controls window or the Timeline window, right-click (Windows) or Control-Click (Mac OS) the underlined Shift Center To value for the slowest layer, choose Edit Value from the menu, and select % of Composition from the Units menu. Type -50 for x-axis and leave the y-axis at 50%. The x and y values represent the layer's center point. Click OK.
This animates the layer to the left by 100% of its width by moving the x position from 50% to -50%.
Tip: If the other layers obscure the view of your work, click the eye icons to the far left of the layers you want to hide.

Use the Offset effect to animate the other two layers.
Use the Offset effect to animate the other two layers at progressively faster speeds. Wrap the next layer twice across the composition so that it moves twice as quickly as the slow layer. Make sure that the current time marker is at the end of the composition. Select the layer you want to move twice as quickly as the slow layer and set the width of the layer by changing the x-axis value to -150 percent of the layer (50% minus 200%). Leave the y-axis value as is and click OK.
Then animate the fastest layer by wrapping it three times during the composition. Select the layer and change the Shift Center To x-axis value to -250 percent of the composition (50% minus 300%), and then click OK.
Press the Home key, and then drag the current-time marker to see the effect.
