Tavi: This is a detail of a two-page spread Halbert did for an educational book titled "Elements of Literature." After scanning his pencil drawing, he used Photoshop to add color and produced shading by converting tonal areas into line halftones at 14 lines per inch at various angles. Halbert scanned a biscuit to get the texture of the lower area, where type was later added. A photo of a mongoose was stripped in later by the publisher. |
