Adobe Stock Photos is a royalty-free image service introduced with Adobe Creative Suite® 2 software in May 2005. Offering one-stop shopping from within Adobe Bridge in Creative Suite 2 and Creative Suite 3 as well as standalone CS2 and CS3 applications, Adobe Stock Photos provides a convenient way for creative professionals to search across multiple image libraries at once and purchase royalty-free images.
What is happening to the Adobe Stock Photos service?
Effective April 1, 2008, the Adobe Stock Photos service will be discontinued.
Why is the service being discontinued?
Adobe has decided to concentrate its efforts in other areas.
How are customers being notified about the discontinuation of the service?
Adobe Stock Photos customers and registered Creative Suite 2 and Creative Suite 3 customers with Adobe Bridge-enabled applications will receive e-mail notification starting February 4, 2008. Information about the service discontinuation will also appear in the Adobe Stock Photos service and on Adobe.com at the same time.
How long will I be able to search for and download free comp images from Adobe Stock Photos?
Adobe Stock Photos will be fully operational, including search and comp download, until March 3, 2008. After March 3, 2008, the search feature will be disabled. Comp images downloaded before the search feature is disabled can be purchased through Adobe Stock Photos until March 31, 2008.
How long will I be able to purchase images from Adobe Stock Photos?
Images can be purchased through the service until March 31, 2008; however, all searches and comp downloads must be complete by March 3, 2008.
If I have downloaded a comp image from Adobe Stock Photos and want to purchase it after March 31, 2008, what do I do?
If the image you would like to buy is labeled with an Adobe Stock Photos image ID number, you'll first need to determine the name of the original stock provider and image ID number. Locate the Adobe Stock Photos image ID number for your downloaded comp either in the file name if you have not renamed the comp, or in the file name in the image metadata. Then convert the Adobe Stock Photos image ID to the supplier ID number using the image ID converter. Once you have this information, simply contact the provider directly to purchase the image.
How can I get my Adobe Stock Photos order history?
Until March 31, 2008, you can view your complete Adobe Stock Photos order history from your Adobe Stock Photos account. Launch Adobe Stock Photos, and then select Your Account at the top right corner of the screen. Log in and select View Order History. Once there, click the individual order number for order details including image ID number, title, resolution, and image download.
How do I redownload images I have purchased from Adobe Stock Photos?
Until March 31, 2008, you can redownload previously purchased images from the Order Details page in your Adobe Stock Photos account. Go to Your Account at the top right corner of Adobe Stock Photos, select View Order History, and then click the order number to go to order details. On the Order Details page, you can download an image again by selecting the down arrow under the Download heading.

How do I purchase content directly from the image suppliers that were included in the Adobe Stock Photos service?
To purchase directly from any of these image suppliers, simply visit their individual websites.
If I purchase an image directly from an Adobe Stock Photos image provider, will the provider have access to my Adobe Stock Photos order history?

If you choose not to run the uninstaller, you will continue to see Adobe Stock Photos in Bridge, but will be unable to purchase images from the service after March 31, 2008.
If I run the Adobe Stock Photos uninstaller and then later have to reinstall a Creative Suite 2 or Creative Suite 3 edition or standalone application, what will happen?
When you reinstall your applications, Adobe Stock Photos will reinstall within Bridge. You will need to run the Adobe Stock Photos uninstaller again to remove the service.
