General
Why was the Adobe Licensing Web Site (LWS) interface changed?

With the release of Adobe Volume Licensing (AVL), significant enhancements were made to the LWS to improve your experience accessing the site and tracking your volume software.

Where can I get help on how to use the LWS?

Refer to the online help upon logging in to LWS, or access the PDF help document.

I'm trying to download my software via ESD using a bookmark, but I can't log in. What is the problem?

Adobe has migrated to a new ESD process, which is now available directly from the LWS. Within the LWS, choose Quick Links > Download Software to access the download page.

Where can I find information on AVL policies, such as transfer of licenses and concurrency?

Consult the Adobe Volume Licensing policies page for information about all AVL policies.

How can I get licensing help?

For Customer Service assistance, visit the Customer Service page, or search the Knowledgebase.

What is the difference between a "Deploy-to" and a "Media ship-to" contact?

"Media ship-to" refers to the location where the physical CD or DVD containing Adobe software is being shipped. "Deploy-to" indicates the person, location, or organization using or deploying the Adobe product.

Prior-version Electronic Software Delivery (ESD)
To the top
I would like to purchase software media for a previous version of an Adobe software product. How do I do this?

You can place your order for the media of a previous version by contacting your reseller. The reseller will place the prior-version order on your behalf just as it would for a typical media order. Note, however, that going forward, Adobe will provide only ESD for any prior-version requests. You will be able to order one version back for any products that are currently offered via ESD. The prior version will be available for the duration of the subsequent product's lifecycle. Example: Adobe® Acrobat® 9 software is available to customers until Acrobat 11 launches, at which point Acrobat X becomes the prior version.

Can I order more than one version back?

Not at this time. Adobe is currently offering only one version back.

How will I receive my prior-version ESD order?

Your order will be processed like any ordinary licensing order for media; however, you will have to reference your ESD link within your LWS account to access the software. Again, Adobe will not be providing any physical software media for prior-version orders, only ESD.

What happens if I go to my ESD link within my LWS account and do not see my prior-version ESD order?

Contact Customer Service for help with prior-version software orders.

Will I get a separate LWS or ESD email for my prior-version media order?

Customers placing prior-version ESD orders will receive an LWS order confirmation email as they normally would for any other order. Only customers who do not have an existing ESD account will receive a separate ESD email in addition to the LWS order confirmation email.

I received my prior-version ESD order within my ESD LWS account; however, I now need serial numbers to install the software. How do I obtain the needed serial numbers?

Customers who need serial numbers for their prior-version ESD orders should contact Customer Service. Customer Service will then take the appropriate steps to provide customers with the needed serial numbers, usually within two to three business days.

Will my prior-version ESD order be eligible for any Licensing Upgrade Entitlements?

No, prior-version ESD orders are not eligible for any Licensing Upgrade Entitlements. Prior-version ESD orders are for media only, not licenses.

If I order additional licenses and wish to use the prior version, can I still use the same serial numbers that I obtained for my initial prior-version ESD orders for the same product?

Yes, once you obtain serial numbers for prior versions, you can use them for any prior-version purchases for the same software and version.

I have misplaced my TLP Direct invoice. How can I get a new one sent to me?

Contact Adobe Customer Service to request a TLP invoice.

How long will it take to receive a serial number or download link after my TLP order has been placed?

You should receive the serial number or download link within 72 hours of placing your TLP order.

I received the media shipment for my order in the mail. But how will I get the licenses?

You will receive an email from Adobe that provides login information to the LWS, which contains all your license information.

How do I return a TLP Direct order?

To return a TLP Direct order, follow these instructions.

Can I return only one item from the complete purchase I made?

No, Adobe's policy does not allow a partial return — the entire purchase must be returned.

How can I get a complete report of my volume license order?

Log in to the LWS, choose Report > View Detailed Purchase History or Quick Links > View Detailed Purchase History, select your search criteria, and run the report. If you experience difficulty, contact Adobe Customer Service for assistance.

Can I use a trial version for an AVL license?

No, the AVL license is not configured to work with a trial version. A volume license serial number is required.

Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) customers

I am eligible for product upgrade as a member of Upgrade Plan, but I did not receive a notice from Adobe. What do I do?

To request the upgrade for a product for which you are covered under Upgrade Plan, visit the Customer Service page.

How can I see a complete report of the purchases made through my CLP membership?

Log in to your LWS account and choose Report > View CLP Purchase Summary, which shows your complete order history.

Will the CLP serial number work if I download a trial version from Adobe.com?

No, the AVL serial number is not meant to work with trial version software. You need to download the software from the LWS.

How do I return software from a CLP order?

All CLP purchases must be returned to the reseller that sold you the licenses. All return exceptions must be authorized by Adobe.
