The Adobe® Web Workgroup Server (included with Adobe GoLive® 6.0) automatically stores a file's history of changes, and it prevents two or more users from working on a file at the same time. You can lock and edit files on the Web Workgroup Server using Adobe Photoshop® 7.0, Adobe Illustrator ® 10, Adobe InDesign® 2.0 or even Macromedia® Dreamweaver® MX. After you check a file back into the server, a new version is added to the file's revision list. Using GoLive, you can compare different file versions and make any version the most current.

Set up the WebDAV URL in your Adobe application.
To edit files from the Web Workgroup Server, you need the WebDAV URL to the project or site, and your user name and password. After you set up a site's WebDAV URL in either Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or LiveMotion, the workgroup files are available in all four applications.
Choose File > Workgroup > Workgroup Servers (Photoshop, InDesign, or LiveMotion), or choose File > Manage Workgroup > Workgroup Servers (llustrator). In the Workgroup Servers dialog box , click New Server. In the New Server dialog box, give the workgroup a name in the Server Nickname text box, and then enter the WebDAV URL to the site that contains your files. (for example, http://workgroupserver:1102/webdav/site_name). Click OK. (If a login dialog box appears, enter your username and password, and then click OK.) When the site's nickname appears in the Workgroup Servers dialog box, click Done (Photoshop or Illustrator) or OK (InDesign or LiveMotion).

Setup the WebDAV URL in Dreamweaver MX.
If you're using Dreamweaver MX, choose Site > Edit Sites. Select your workgroup site in the list, and click Edit. In the Site Definition dialog box, select the Advanced tab, and then select Remote Info. Choose WebDAV from the Access pop-up menu, and then click Settings. In the WebDAV Connection dialog box, enter the WebDAV URL to the site on the Web Workgroup Server, enter your login information, and then click OK. In the Edit Sites dialog box, click OK.
Check out a file.
Choose File > Workgroup > Open (Photoshop, InDesign, or LiveMotion), or File > Manage Workgroup > Open (Illustrator). In the dialog box, choose a workgroup server from the Server pop-up menu. Select a file to edit, and then click Check Out.
To check a file out in Dreamweaver MX, choose a site from the Site panel, select a file, and then click Check Out. Either click Yes to download dependent files, or click No.
