Give your site a workgroup makeover
page: 1 2 3
Use Adobe® GoLive® 6 with the Adobe Web Workgroup Server to turn your existing Web site into a feature-rich workgroup site. A workgroup site lets you take advantage of revision management, site archiving, and site collaboration, amongst many other things. Follow these steps to convert your site into a workgroup site, and set up the workgroup site's FTP publishing server.
main_int
Convert your site into a workgroup site.
Open your site project file to display the site window, and then choose Site > Workgroup > Convert to Workgroup Site. Click OK in the confirmation dialog box.
The Convert to Workgroup Site command overwrites the existing site project file with the new workgroup site. Alternatively, you can use the Import from GoLive Site option in the GoLive Site Wizard to create a new workgroup site based upon your original site.
Login to the Web Workgroup Server.
In the Convert Actual Site To Workgroup Site dialog box, enter the workgroup server name, your username, password, the port number, and then click Convert.
Contact the workgroup site administrator to get your login information. If you're running the Web Workgroup Server on your local machine, enter "localhost" for Server, your username, password, and enter "1102" for Port (or the port number you entered during the Web Workgroup Server installation). In some cases, entering your IP address instead of "localhost" may be required.

Check out and edit a file.
Now you're ready to check out a file from the Web Workgroup Server to prevent other site users from editing the file while you're working on it. Select a file in the Files tab of the site window, and then click the Check Out button in the Workgroup toolbar. Edit your file, and then choose File > Save to save the changes.
