“Thinking too long about doing something is often the reason it never gets done.”

Bradley Tyrrell is the head of library information and research services at Scotch College in Swanbourne, Western Australia. Over the past three years he has worked in leadership positions in the field of information communication technologies. He oversaw the implementation of one-to-one laptop programs and in 2011 and was the first director of ICT to implement a one-to-one iPad program. He taught for seven years in three different educational systems: the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia, the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia, and the Department of Education Western Australia.
In 2011 he strategically changed his career direction to prove that libraries need to be redefined as centers for ICT/literacy and numeracy in schools. He feels that ICT programs have neglected libraries for too long as the vehicles for integration they once were.
Tyrrell holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Notre Dame Australia, with majors in IT and accounting/business. As part of his degree he completed an additional major in ICT and holds certifications in workplace training and assessment. He is currently completing a master’s degree in secondary education, majoring in leadership.
