Peter Bryans works as an art, graphic design, and residential drafting teacher in Perth, Western Australia. He believes it is important to create industry-relevant tasks for students. He doesn’t intend to bore them with brochures and letterheads, which they’ll see aplenty when they enter the workforce, but to assign them tasks that let them explore the same tool skills and techniques they’ll use in the work world. He challenges his students with book cover and skateboard designs, assignments for mobile app user interfaces, public art graffiti, illustrations, and more. He seeks to create an environment where his students learn the latest graphic trends, use professional tools, solve industry-relevant problems, and express their creativity.
