North American Education Concurrent Licensing

Macromedia now allows concurrent usage by this registration process to eligible customers, as set forth below.

There is currently no charge associated with these rights. However, we reserve the right to re-evaluate the fee structure at any time.

What are concurrent usage rights?

Concurrent usage rights allow eligible customers to distribute Macromedia software to end users through a shared-file server that employs license-metering software. This license-metering software will not allow the number of licenses in use at one time to exceed the authorized usage. Authorized usage is defined as the number of licenses purchased and registered for a software title.

Concurrent usage rights are only allowed on the Macromedia Tools Products set forth on the registration page. These rights are not applicable to server products. Concurrent usage must be registered per product per platform. Macromedia does not provide product support for concurrent use. Macromedia does not perform performance testing for concurrent use.

Am I eligible?

If you are an educational institution or organization that has acquired software through the Education Volume License Program (EVLP) as part of the Macromedia Volume License Program (MVLP) in the U.S. or Canada, you ("Licensee") are eligible to register for concurrent usage rights.

If you live outside North America, concurrency is not part of our current offerings. For queries relating to concurrency in Europe, please contact your local reseller or distributor.

Concurrent Usage Terms and Conditions

Macromedia will grant to Licensee the following limited concurrent use rights on products registered via the concurrent usage registration form:

Licensee is authorized to distribute, to Eligible End Users (as defined in your agreements with us), Macromedia Tools Products licensed via a shared file server that employs license metering software, such as KeyServer® Software from Sassafras Software, Inc. or SMS license management software, that meters usage and will not allow launch or usage of any software title if that usage would exceed the license count set for that title. Licensee agrees to maintain the above-mentioned server's settings in such a way that the number of licenses in concurrent use does not exceed the licensed number (i.e. the number set for the server will always be equal to or less than the number licensed). Licensee agrees that Macromedia may audit Licensee's use of the Macromedia Products to ensure that Licensee's use of the Macromedia Products does not exceed the number of licenses granted to Licensee and registered by the Licensee.

Except as set forth above, all of your use of the Macromedia products will be as set forth in your agreements with Macromedia, including the End User License Agreement.
