Education Volume License Program

The Education Volume License Program (EVLP) offers significant discounts on Macromedia software, upgrades, subscriptions, technical support, and training that help educational institutions save time and money. EVLP is available to colleges, universities, and K-12 schools and districts in the U.S. and Canada. You may purchase products through EVLP from a Macromedia Authorized Academic Reseller.

Each Macromedia product is assigned a point value. The total number of points of your order determines the discount level you receive: in general, the greater the size of the order, the greater the discount. Smaller orders qualify for Base EVLP and larger orders qualify for the additional benefits of High Volume EVLP, both of which are described below. Educational institutions placing a minimum initial order of 3,000 points may wish to participate in Premier EVLP.

  Base EVLP High Volume EVLP
Description

Base Education Volume License Program (EVLP) is intended for all eligible education customers.

This points-based option provides three levels of discount and a low point of entry making it easier than ever for customers to qualify for volume discounts.

Eligible education institutions of any size can purchase through the Base EVLP by placing an order between 0 and 249 points.

High Volume Education Volume License Program (EVLP) is intended for all eligible education customers.

This points-based option provides two levels of discount and rewards customers for larger purchases.

The High Volume EVLP allows education customers to purchase licenses at one consistent volume purchase level institution-wide with no point minimum for reorders.

Common Features and Benefits
  • Significant discounts on all Macromedia products with no minimum order requirement.
  • No contract required.
  • The greater the size of the order, the greater the discount.
  • Subscriptions are available (but not required) to keep your software updated and current for two years.
  • Allows mixing and matching of products and platforms.
  • One CD set is included per order at no additional cost.
Specific Features and Benefits Three discount levels are available. The total points on each order determine the discount level for that order. Two discount levels are available, determined by the size of your initial order. After your initial qualifying order, you maintain that discount level (or higher) for all future orders, with no minimum point requirement for reorders. This means that a larger initial order guarantees you that same deep discount level on future orders – even smaller orders that would otherwise receive a much smaller discount. The discount level established by your initial order is available institution-wide.
Availability Any eligible education institution may place a Base EVLP order and will qualify for a discount level based on the total points for that order. Any eligible education institution may place an initial qualifying High Volume EVLP order, or a customer with an existing valid High Volume EVLP membership number can place a new order with no point minimum requirement.
Product Point Assignments

Our award-winning products, subscriptions, technical support, and training offerings have been assigned points. These points, multiplied by the quantity purchased, yields total points on an initial order—placing a customer into a specific discount level. The following is a short list of products and their point values:

Program Levels

The following point break has been established for the Base EVLP. A point break is the number of points you need in order to enter a given program level.

Program Level Point Break
Entry 0-9
A 10-99
B 100-249

The following point breaks have been established for each program level within the High Volume EVLP. A point break is the number of points you need in order to enter a given program level.

Program Level Point Break
C 250-999
D 1,000+
Discounts By Level

Discount curves vary by product type. Discounts may increase by level (for example, a Level C discount is typically higher than Level B discount). However, there are some products where the same discount applies across all the levels. Technical Support, for example, has the same price across all levels.

Order Minimum

North American education customers may now participate in the Base EVLP through our Entry Level for purchases from 0-9 points.

A 10-point minimum is required to qualify for Level A Base EVLP.

A 250-point minimum is required to qualify for Level C of the High Volume EVLP.
Reorder Minimum Base EVLP is a transactional program for which each purchase is unique. 0 points for reorders with a valid membership number.
Advancing To The Next Volume Purchase Level The total points on each order uniquely determine the volume purchase level for that order.  If a customer places an order that qualifies for a specific level then subsequently places another unique order that qualifies for a higher level, the customer will receive the appropriate discount for that higher level. If a High Volume EVLP customer places one unique order that would qualify for a higher level, the higher level is honored. Additionally, if a High Volume EVLP customer places a unique order that would qualify for the current level, that level will be honored.
Software Subscriptions

Macromedia offers software subscriptions for purchases made by Base EVLP and High Volume EVLP customers. The software subscription offering entitles the customer to free version upgrades (for example, an upgrade from version 4.0 to 5.0), updates (for example, from 5.1 to 5.3) and bug fixes during the active subscription period when and if available. Macromedia will determine at its sole discretion what constitutes an upgrade, update, or bug fix.  A software subscription period is two years.

Some important notes on software subscriptions:

  • The purchase of a subscription is optional.
  • If a subscription is purchased, it must be purchased with the license.
  • Customer subscription coverage begins with the initial product purchase date and expires on the last day of the month after the two-year anniversary date.
  • Subscription renewals may be purchased up to 90 days prior to the subscription expiration date. Customers will be advised of their renewal opportunities well in advance of the subscription expiration. To learn more about renewing your EVLP subscription plan contact Macromedia or your reseller.

Only software upgrades for the products covered by software subscription are included; no additional products are included.

Technical Support Bronze, Silver and Gold level technical support is also available through the Base and High Volume EVLP. Contact your education reseller for a complete list of products and pricing.

  • Software (one CD at no charge, although customers may still be charged the appropriate freight fee)
  • The EVLP License Certificate, which includes:

    • A unique program membership number.
    • Right to Copy licenses in accordance with the license purchase.
    • One multi-user serial number per product family, also in accordance with the license purchase for customers within Levels A through D. Customers will be given a separate serial number for every unit purchased in the Entry Level.
    • Terms and Conditions.

Customers may purchase documentation or additional CDs for a nominal fee at quantities not to exceed the number of licenses purchased. Documentation will not be shipped unless specifically ordered, as all documents are available in electronic version on the software CD.

Shipping Method All physical orders are shipped from our warehouses using a two-day service, such as Federal Express 2nd day service or an international equivalent. Macromedia will ship EVLP orders directly to end users and send shipping details to the distributor.
Procurement End users within the United States and Canada may purchase software through the EVLP from a Macromedia education reseller. All end-user information, including the end-user deployment e-mail address, must be included on the purchase order submitted to Macromedia.
Returns For the purposes of the EVLP, Macromedia will honor the warranty of the End-User License Agreement. Otherwise, Macromedia will not accept returns for EVLP orders. The only exception to this no-return policy will be for product exchanges on order-entry errors corrected within 30 days of receipt of incorrect product.
