Can I somehow use the same style sheet for pages of differing page lengths?

Problem

I have web pages of various lengths. It is 2 column. But for some pages, the CSS causes chunks of blank space under end of content and before the footer, with the scroll bar scrolling down past the bottom of the content, til the footer.

Solution

Must I have different style sheets for each page?

Detailed description

I have 2-column web pages of various lengths. I must apparently put page lengths for columns in the CSS, or I lose the layout. But for some pages, the CSS causes chunks of blank space under end of content and before the footer, with the scroll bar scrolling down past the bottom of the content, til the footer. Must I have a different style sheet for each page, to get rid of the chunks of white space before the footer?

Single CSS?

Wendy -- of course you can.  Add a different style that you can attach to different IDs of your DIV tags.

Here are some great CSS resources for you:
CSS Positioning Tutorials: http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial/
Positioning Playground: http://www.barelyfitz.com/screencast/html-training/css/positioning/
CSS Code Snips: http://www.designyourway.net/blog/resources/31-css-code-snippets-to-make-you-a-better-coder/

Just keep your code nice and organized and you can put all of it in one file and include that file into all of your documents.  The DOM will only process what you tell it to process within your HTML's ID and CLASS references.
