This is a simple, easy to use style to turn text or graphics into the effect shown (shiny gold). The ones I found were all for huge fonts and graphics so I made this one. It should work on smaller sizes as well as large. Let me know. I made it in Photoshop 6.0 so I don't know if it works in 5x or 7x.
SUPPORT INFORMATION
Save this to the folder where Photoshop keeps styles. It is usually c:\programfiles\photoshop 6.0\presets\styles
Then open Photoshop. Click on WINDOW then SHOW STYLES. On the box that comes up, click on the small arrow at the upper right and select LOAD STYLES. Next, select Abrams-gold1. A button will appear on your style sheet.
Then open your graphic or text on its own layer, select that layer to be sure the effect will be applied to the graphic, then press the button that appeared on the style sheet for Abrams-Gold1, and it will change your graphic to this effect.

Boy is this a snap compared to the other solutions I have tried in hoping to achieve a realistic gold metallic effect on font faces. It worked without a hitch for me in Photoshop 8.0. Thank you, Linda!

I have Win, PSE6 & I downloaded Abrams- gold. My text is gold on the top but the bottom of the text has shadows. Does anyone have this problem?
