You can give a photo a spider web look.
SUPPORT INFORMATION
Run as all my others. Open, dupe layer, Filter > Distort > Displace. Flatten and enjoy.

Melanie - Craig is the king of displacement maps, he has a few more here and I know he is working on even more. Clair - you missed the point of using a displacement mask. Just pretend for a minute that you need to spider-ize a photo, try some other methods, and compare the results - you will be pleasantly surprised.
