Nice way of adding semi-realistic human hair into your illustration. Apply these brush strokes to existing paths or brush with the Brush Tool.

I really love your brushes!! Now if you would be kind enough to add a real dark haired brunette and perhaps a redhead, it would be SUPA DUPA AWESOME!! Thanks for sharing your talent. *smile*"
Hi Lisa -
Try this idea - there may be an easier way to do this but I havn't figured it out. This way does work.
To make the hair any color you want follow these instructions:
• Click on one of the hair brushes and drag it to you art board in AI.
• Use the selection tool and drag the hair on the art board to the SYMBOL pallet. Name it what every you like, for type choose graphic. Click OK
• Under the symbol sprayer tool choose the Symbol Stainer tool (6th from the top). With the hair on the artboard selected choose a color swatch from the swatches pallet the Stain the hair.
• Now drag the hair on the artboarad to the brushes pallet - give it a name.
You now have a hair brush any color that you wish!

Excellent! Thank you! For all you poor confused people out there [with CS4] who are wondering how the heck to get this to work, do the following:
1. Open the .ai in Illustrator.
2. On the Property Inspector (the thing above the artboardy area) open the drop down menu dedicated to brushes.
3. Select the first hair brush.
4. Hold down your SHIFT key and click the last brush. Excellent! You just selected all the brushes!
5. On the bottom left [of the brush dropdown you opened earlier] there is a flyout menu that looks like two folders on top of each other with a black triangle in the corner; click it.
6. At the top of that flyout there is a button that reads "Save Brushes..."; click that.
7. A window will pop up prompting you where to save it. I would suggest you put the Brush Library in [your hard drive, usually C:]C:\Program Files\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Presets\en_US\Brushes\[What you want your folder name to be, or just put the brush library directly in this folder, The best name is Hair].
8. You're done!
Next time you open Illustrator on the flyout menu under the Brushes dropdown menu on the Property Inspector, your new library will be under "User Defined" 8)
