Pass strings from Flash buttons to the browser's status bar by triggering a JavaScript function in the HTML page.

Included are two HTML publish templates, as well as two ActionScript files and sample FLA/HTML files that use them.

Due to browser issues regarding JavaScript, I've included two versions of this extension. The FS Command version is for Netscape (Mac/PC) and IE (PC). The GetURL version is for IE (Mac), all versions except 4.5.

The GetURL version may work on other browsers, but not well. Decide what browsers you are targeting and use the appropriate version of this extension. I'd recommend using the FS Command version if you don't mind excluding IE/Mac. It does fail gracefully, however, and the end user will not notice in this case.

Please see the Read Me file, with instructions on how to use this extension.

UI Access:
Two new HTML templates will be installed and available in Flash under File>Publish Settings>HTML, under the Template dropdown list. The corresponding ActionScript files, samples and Read Me help file will be installed into a new folder inside Flash 5 called 'Status Bar'.
