I think the 1 star reviews on here are really unfortunate.

malone-fav: your problem is with IE 6...i don't think it is with the extension. Sounds to me like the extension works, but you are trying to do something with your menu that doesnt work properly in IE6. Anyone who develops professional websites for a living knows that dealing with IE 6 issues is a fact of life, despite the third party tools that you use. Do you expect Menu Writer to suddenly popup an alert that says "you can't do that because IE 6 sucks?" You need to learn to troubleshoot your own issues and don't blame others.

davidprescott: i've been a WebAssist customer for almost 4 years now. I'm not sure what you consider to be slow, but any questions i've asked on their forums have been answered in a day...sometimes faster. The only time that it has seemed slow for me, has been on weekends, and because they are closed. I would never knock WebAssist support. If you look at their forums, they do way more than assist people with using their extensions, they literally teach people how to developer websites if they have to.

My experience with CSS Menu Writer has always been pretty good. It does what it needs to do. Sometimes when a client wants a more complex menu, i have to do some additional tweaking outside of the extension, but that is rarely the case. Either way, it saves time, and is a very handy tool to have at my fingertips.

I started using CSS menu writer a couple of weeks ago and the first time I used it I ended up giving up. It seemed really buggy to me and my results we very inconsistent. Webassist support is slow and I'm getting frustrated with them.

When I called to order all they kept telling me was how fast support is and that their products are all plug and play. They install okay, but I've had problems with a few of them now.

Easy to use and customise. However, real issues with Internet Explorer 6 rendering. This can also be seen from Web Assists own forum where people have had issues. My client liked it so much, however, despite offering an alternative, that we are getting round the problem by installing a script to detect what browsers visitors are using and then directing them to where they can upgrade. Hopefully IE6 will soon be obsolete and I can use this product confidently. At the moment I am wary about offering it to other clients which is a real shame as it is so easy to use and saves a lot of time.

Have used ADDT for a long time and moved over to WebAssist's products since ADDT has been canceled. So far have been pleased...Menu Writer's dynamic menu capabilities has been particularly useful.

Recently I came across WebAssit's products through the exchange and have had a great experience - since I find the reviews useful I thought I should leave a note:

A Depot
If there is someone like yourself, crazy enough to waste their time posting "reviews" like yours below then surely there are plenty of people willing to take a moment and provide a great company like WebAssist with positive feedback regarding their products. Especially if like me they found WebAssist through the exchange - get a life.
