Resize to Area

This script is very helpful if you wish to resize images of different aspect-ratios to the same average size. The script launches a dialog box which can resize an image, or multiple images, to a "target" width and height. A resized image may "break out" of the specified width and height, as a means of retaining its aspect-ratio. To see the benefits of this method of resizing, compared to normal resizing, please view the sample link.

Place the JavaScript file into the folder: Adobe Photoshop > Presets > Scripts and relaunch Photoshop. The script can now be accessed from File > Scripts > Resize to Area.

Hi Christopher,
I was looking for a way to resize an image to 4-5 different sizes for the web. I wasn't sure if your script will help. I tried fitting an image in a 327x259 pixels but got 368x230. Do you have a script to fit images in 5 different areas and have their KB size at a certain number? For example I have the source image and I would like to get 2 web images called 1_lg.jpg (327x259) at 19-20 kb and 1_med.jpg (235X159) at 15-16 KB. Can this be done? Do you a script for it? or can you write one?
