Exports photos for HDR tone mapping and exposure fusion in Photomatix Pro. The plug-in lets you set the HDR processing options with the ability to have the resulting image automatically saved and re-imported into the Lightroom library.

The interaction with Photomatix is much the same as with Photoshop - both will allow you to select images for fusion, open the external program and allow you to select options and manipulate the process, then import the resultant image back into LR. Whether Photomatix is better or worse than Photoshop is I'm sure a matter of opinion. It works as advertised so if you are a Photomatix user already, you will want to get this plugin. It does require a purchase of the underlying software I believe, or at least if you want an unrestricted version.
