SimpleTrace is a development tool for Captivate authors and Flash programmers developing for Captivate. When enabled SimpleTrace overlays a persistent info box on the playing Captivate movie showing the Captivate and Flash variables as they change during the movie playback. The advanced feature allows you to enter your own variables, instantiated in text input boxes, other widgets, or the Advance Actions dialog box. The goal of SimpleTrace is to provide a robust development and debugging tool to aid programmers in creating other widgets or advanced actions.

This widget will continue to be updated as new features are added to Captivate and as developers request more features. Please leave comments and feature requests here! Thanks!

Thanks! I am working on an AS2 version right now. Connect Pro is unfortunately still in AS2 and debugging complex Captivate files in that environment is getting challenging. I'll post it soon! - Brad

Wow, what a simple efficient widget.

I used the variable to get info on the evolution of the activity (ie. slide and frame count to synchronise the events), but with this widget, we can do it without the use of text box and variables.

And thanks to put it under GPL licence.

Great job!!
