Spry Image Slideshow-Basic

Framework: Spry

The Spry Image Slideshow is designed to take a set of images and convert them into a functioning slide show widget. The Image Slideshow has many configurable properties so can customize the functionality and style. In this latest version, compatibility for IE6-8 has been added, but a user needs to ensure that a DTD is specified in the doctype to ensure that IE displays the page in a Standards mode.

It was straight forward on setup. I was able to get exactly what I needed to function locally within Dreamweaver CS6. Like many of the others, after hours of troubleshooting I was unable to get it to work on the server. I am using DW's spry menu bar. Perhaps a versioning issue? Would love to make this work!

Not sure what everyone is having problems with, I've used it four or five times with no problems. And no, you DON'T need to be an expert—it works for me : )

Exactly what others have written. The slideshow plays locally within DW (on my computer) just fine, but does not play at all when the exact same file hierarchy has been "put" onto the remote server. I just don't have time to futz around with something that doesn't work, out-of-the-bag.

This looks very useful on the surface but I was not able to use it. There are no instructions on how to import files to crete your own slideshow. On clicking Import xml is shown as file type which is of no help. If you are not an expert don't waste time trying to make it work.
