These are two ActionScript files that can be used with movie clips to make time-based alpha fading. This is a good example of using ActionScript to perform animation without using keyframes. Either script can be assigned to a movie clip instance on the stage. Simply create a movie clip, and with the clip selected, import either of these files into the Actions panel. The code also includes simple instructions on how to change the amount of time that the alpha fade occurs.
