* Setup Instructions After installing the extension, you must setup the E-mail preferences before you can send mail. 1. Cmd/Ctrl+K to open Bridge preferences. 2. Open the E-Mail preference panel. 3. Fill in the Required fields. You can choose from 2 ways to send E-mail. You can use a desktop E-mail client (Mac Only), or have the script talk directly to your ISP's E-Mail (POP and SMTP) servers. E-Mail Client Option (Mac Only) 1. Click the "Send E-Mail Using..." check box to select this option. 2. Use the "Locate" button to find your E-mail client on Disk. Mac most E-mail clients should work (I know that Apple's Mail and Microsoft's Entourage do). Mail Server Option * E-Mail Server Name -- The fully qualified domain name for your mail server. Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the name of their mail server. * User Name -- The user name you use to authorize access to the mail server. It may or may not be the same as your E-mail address. * Do Not Save my Password in Preferences -- Click this if you don't want the extension to store your E-Mail password in preferences. * Password -- The password for the user name on the mail server. * Default Sender Address -- The "From" address to use when sending E-mails. You can change this before sending each mail: this sets a default. * Use Custom Port Numbers. If you need to use POP or SMTP port numbers other than the standard port numbers to communicate with your mail server, you can enter them here. Inside Adobe, leave them set to the defaults. * How to Send E-Mail There are two ways to send E-mail from a Bridge window. First, select the Thumbnails for the files you want to send. Next, right/control+click on the selected Thumbnails and pick "E-Mail" or select "E-Mail" from the Output icon menu in the tool bar. After the E-mail document appears, enter the To and From E-mail addresses and write subject line and a short message. If you didn't enter your password in the E-Mail preferences, enter it now. Click on Send to start sending the files via E-mail, or hit cancel to stop. As the E-mail is sent, status messages appear in the Bridge window's status bar. Until the E-mail is done, you won't be able to use Bridge. There is no cancel. * Known Limitations - Supports only ASCII plain text in messages and subject lines. - The E-mail can't be sent in the background; you just have to wait for it to finish before you can do anything else with Bridge. - There is no cancel button to stop sending E-mail once it's in progress. - May not work with all E-Mail servers, including some that require SMTP AUTH. - E-mail client option only works on Mac, and may not work with all desktop E-mail clients.
