I was asked to test the pre-release version of Dfx in my professional work having used many of the Tiffen optical filters over the last three decades. I was very impressed with the open layout of Dfx and the huge selection of filter effects that replicate Tiffen’s optical line. But it is the ability in most cases to refine the results under the Parameter sections that has drawn me further and further into the program giving me a number of customized filter effects. So this is a program that is very easy to use from the beginning but has almost unlimited options for those who wish to modify and refine the outcome. I use the plug-in version with Photoshop CS 4 and highly recommended Dfx to all photographers.

As someone who is hardly a computer geek I have found Tiffen Dfx Stand Alone and plug-in versions to be invaluable in expanding my creative possibilities, Dfx is comprehensive, intuitive and user friendly in ways that other systems I've tried cannot match. When it comes to maximum flexibility and the ability to create and assess complex layering and masking effects, Dfx is unsurpassed, and the fact that it can open a wide variety of files such as Nikon, Canon, and Sigma is a big plus for me personally. I highly recommend it to non-techie shooters like me who want great results right out of the box without a steep learning curve.

I am not a heavy Photoshop user, no time, but I do like the ease of working with Tiffen Dfx, and the creative stuff it allows me to do, with my limited talents.

Overall, nice product, reasonably priced, easy to use and great results.

I've been using both the stand-alone version and plug-in version of Dfx since it came out and I've upgraded to the latest version AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Using Dfx is like have every filter you could ever dream of and not having the weight in your gadet bag! I'm especially fond of the colored gradation filters. You can see my work and read a review of Dfx on my photo blog - http://MarkFocus.net - and when you see the photos of Rockland Lake State Park you'll have to agree that Dfx does the job!

Susan and I have had lots of experience in the past using filters with our film photography and alas, now we have a digital tool with Tiffen Dfx to help us and save lots of time as well as offering new suggestions for variations on a theme that makes for a fun and fresh approach to our digital photography. The flexibility and diversity of this program rocks. Great tutorials available for free and we could not believe how well the gobo filter works. We used to have to work so hard in the studio to duplicate this effect using tungsten lights and a grid and slow shutter speeds etc., and now, instantaneously it appears and we can even change the form of it so that there are an infinite number of possibilities and then you can even save your favorites. Our students at our photo workshops are finding this to be incredibly useful as well. Thank you Tiffen!

This is just a perfect complement to DSLR photography and a logical expansion of Photoshop's capabilities! I found Tiffen's Dfx software easy to learn and use, providing almost infinite possibilities from subtle image enhancement to entirely new interpretations of my work. Its visual interface encourages me to experiment. Dfx has quickly become a regular part of my toolbox.

I have used Tiffen Filters on my cameras for most of my photographic life. Especially as a cinematographer every movie I have ever shot has used one form of Tiffen diffusion or effect filter or another. I even have Glimmer Glass and Promists for my Leica M6 and M8 cameras. Having these filters available digitally has made my life much easier. I use the software to show Directors what the "look" of the movie might be before we shoot and what each shot might look like during production. I also use the digital filters in preparing my photography for printing for the museum shows I am now doing. Even on the large 40 inch prints I am doing digitally they give me exactly what I need to express myself artistically. Thank you Tiffen

This plug-in is one worth trying. Huge range of filters/effects and found it easy to create then save custom variations. Multi-layering without having to exit is definitely a plus.

I use this plug in all the time with great results both for my digital photography and for a preview for filters that I use on TV shows and films that I shoot as a professional cinematographer. It's east and intuitive to use!
