I have based all my Photoshop classes on the Classroom in a Book series, beginning in 1992. I think these books provide an excellent foundation for beginning and intermediate users, and they touch on some of the more advanced features as well. Please understand, the Photoshop CS4 feature set goes well beyond the scope of this title, but the Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book is an excellent place to start.
