Anina is a successful fashion model based in Paris with a passion for technology. Developing interactive web and mobile services, she is on the cutting edge of combining multimedia art with mobile technology. Her Flash® enabled work has been displayed in art exhibits throughout Paris and can be viewed online at anina.net. Examples of her modeling work have appeared in Russian Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, WAD, and DEdiCate Magazine.
Challenge
Traditionally, fashion was a world observed by many people but experienced by few. Beautiful designs, celebrities, and the personalities driving the business could be glimpsed in newspaper articles and on television, but gaining a more intimate, firsthand look into the industry was difficult.
Fortunately, advances in technology are changing that. The latest details in fashion, filled with rich images and strong personalities, are now more accessible than ever electronically to viewers around the globe. "Thanks to better web and mobile technologies, we can effectively communicate the powerful images, stories, and business of fashion," says Anina. "It’s exciting to see technology and fashion coming together."
Solution
Anina understands the importance of technology to her work as a fashion model and artist. “My interest in Flash was piqued when I realized that I could quickly create rich, compelling images that people could view online or on mobile phones,” she says. "It enabled me to reach as wide an audience as possible with my work."
Her website, anina.net, is a testament to those goals. Full of dynamic images, video, and even a model blog, the site encourages people to explore fashion in fun, interactive ways. Anina has also developed a rich Flash Lite™ 2 version of her blog "Project 360Fashion" for mobile phones, as well as a compelling mobile application called "Anina DressUp" for the innovative FlashCast™ solution. Mobile subscribers who have the application installed on their handsets will automatically receive any new content that is added to anina.net, as well as gain easy access to movies, photos, ringtones, and other free content. "Anina Dress Up" includes a game that allows people to dress Anina in the latest fashions; Anina plans to collaborate with fashion designers to frequently add new clothing lines to keep the mobile application fresh and interesting. Eventually, the game is intended to link to sites where people can purchase the outfits.
Anina created the web and mobile applications using Flash Professional 8. The tool includes templates, design guidelines, and a Flash Lite emulator, enabling developers to use one tool to create engaging content for both web and mobile use. "Flash technology is ideal for creating powerful, reliable applications because it is easy to use and has excellent documentation and community support," explains Anina. "You can be a Flash novice and create and deliver beautiful animations, or you can be a Flash expert and develop full-service applications for web and mobile devices."

Project Details
The rich content created for anina.net provides people with a bird’s-eye view into the fashion world and helps enhance understanding of the many facets of fashion. The interactive website and mobile applications go beyond typical fashion news by providing visitors with insight into daily events via a blog, new video, and other content.
With the ease and flexibility of the mature Flash authoring tool, Anina prototyped, tested, and deployed the "Anina Dress Up" application in less than three weeks. ActionScript, the object-oriented Flash programming language, allowed her to reuse existing code in the mobile applications.
"With Flash, I can build on my existing skills and apply them to new projects to streamline development," says Anina.
The popular website and mobile applications are paving the way for even closer collaboration between fashion and technology leaders. "These projects demonstrate to both industries that fashion content can be delivered to mobile devices to dramatically change how people view industry brands and personalities," she says.
