Rob Zdrojewski has been introducing students to structural engineering, robotics, and communication technologies at Amherst Middle School since 2001. With a specialty in digital video and TV production, he built the nationally recognized Amherst Tech TV program based on Adobe® Visual Communicator® software. The program's website, AmherstTechTV.org, serves as a model for other schools, and Zdrojewski both advises and trains fellow educators in TV production.
The Amherst Tech TV program grew rapidly, and Zdrojewski committed himself to constructing a two-room "greenscreen/bluescreen" studio facility, perhaps the first of its kind in a school setting, to meet the demand. Zdrojewski and his students use the recording studio and adjacent control room to produce live daily broadcasts, class projects, video yearbooks, and more. Zdrojewski's video tutorials are regularly used by students and educators, and his students frequently win prizes in national video competitions.
Zdrojewski earned a bachelor’s degree in Technology Education and a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. In addition to Visual Communicator, his software expertise includes Adobe Ultra®, Ovation™, and DV Rack™. Rob presents at local, state, and national educational conferences and, in 2004, the New York State Technology Education Association named him Regional Technology Teacher of the Year.
