Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) is our global commitment to ignite creative confidence in young people – the ability to tell powerful stories for social change through digital media. Through it, we demonstrate the importance of creativity in education and how it can positively impact the future of students. In fact, 96 percent of AYV youth believe that creativity is important to their success.
Youth ages 13 to 19 involved in AYV highlight the issues they care about through the production of original media projects – a process that fosters innovative and critical thinking as well as their passion to make a difference. Through this experience, youth hone skills of self-expression, ideation, collaboration, flexibility, and persistence, skills that are essential to success in the world today.
AYV is brought to life through our nonprofit partners, educators, and employees around the world. Since the program’s launch in 2006, more than 190,000 youth have participated. The Adobe Foundation has invested more than $53 million in the program since it was founded in 2006.
The AYV Community provides educators with free curricula and tools designed to inspire creative confidence in young people. It also supports educators’ professional development by serving as a space for networking, exchanging ideas, and discovering best practices. Participants can upload content for feedback, request support with technical issues, and access all AYV program features. Since 2006, more than 18,000 educators have utilized the AYV Community.
Our annual AYV Awards competition invites youth around the world to creatively express their vision for driving change in local communities. Young people ages 13-19 submit their digital media projects such as documentaries, music videos, digital art, photography slide shows and music
Finalist submissions are posted online and the public is invited to help select audience award winners by voting for their favorite entries. During the online voting period, an international panel of professionals working in art, film, and other creative fields also selects first- and second-place winners in each content category.
Winners receive impact-focused prize packages, and their entries are featured at distinguished exhibitions, including international film festivals and other arts organization events.
Adobe Youth Voices Scholarships
We developed the Adobe Youth Voices Scholarships program to support the next generation of creative thinkers and advance the future careers of those who create. These scholarships provide financial support for students in their final year of high school/upper secondary school or first year of post-secondary education who have participated in the AYV program through our network of more than 1,200 strategic partners in 60 countries.
The Adobe Youth Voices Scholarships program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), an independent not-for-profit founded in 1919. IIE is among the world's largest and most experienced international education and training organizations.
