PDF Print Engine 3 provides full support for streamed PDF, such as PDF/VT-2s. PostScript and some other VDP formats have long supported streaming for Variable Data Print jobs (VDP). A long job is rendered and printed while subsequent pages are being composited. This approach is challenging for a page-independent format like PDF.
But the PDF/VT specification (ISO 16612-2) established a standard way of segmenting a long job into “chunks”, effectively resulting in a stream of smaller PDF files. With Print Engine 3, high-volume VDP jobs, such as Transpromo, can now take advantage of the PDF imaging model for personalized printing.
From digital presses to wide format printers to CTP– the Adobe PDF Print Engine is the industry’s fastest rendering platform.
New scalability framework for maximizing resource utilization, parallel processing and load balancing.
Finally, Variable Data Print (VDP) production workflow can harness the most robust imaging model in the industry.
