Synchronizer

The synchronizer manages the flow of data between the client, a local database, and Document Cloud. It is a client process that manifests on a machine as AdobeCollabSync.exe that runs as a background process if there are resources to synchronize. It performs bidirectional pushing and pulling of files between the client and a server and also allows clients on a local machine to connect, send commands, and receive notifications. This preference does not interact with email-based review and forms workflows.

Version # 9.0+
User Path Workflows
Lock Path Not lockable
Summary Disables the synchronizer.
Details Features that use the synchronizer include services, the Adobe Acrobat Trust List, shared reviews, the recent files list (11.0.07+), and data collection in some forms workflows prior to 11.0.07. Disabling the Synchronizer is not recommended. Possible values include:
  • 0: Disable the synchronizer.
  • 1: Enable the synchronizer.
Note that Acrobat and Reader do not use the same synchronizer. When there is an older minor version of Acrobat or Reader and the newer minor version is 11.0.07-11.1.10:
  • Both Acrobat and Reader get the new synchronizer when updating to .07 or later.
  • If the newer synchronizer is running, it supports older services and non-services operations.
  • If the older synchronizer (pre 11.0.07) is running, sync-dependent operations do not work [3746864]

For 11.x, the behavior is as follows:

    • bDisableADCFileStore can be used to black list Acrobat.com file storage when bEnableAcrobatHS is set to 1.
In 10.1.2, the online signing service option is removed from Reader's Sign Pane. In 10.1.8-10.0.10 and 11.0.05-11.0.07, this preference also removes EchoSign UI items from the right hand Sign Pane. It does not remove the Get Documents Signed items from the splash page and File menu (though those items no longer have access to the feature). This bug is fixed in 10.0.10 and 11.0.08.

11.0.09 change: In Reader, the Sign Pane is now called Fill and Sign and also contains the form's tools. This bEnableAcrobatHS service master switch disables all features of the Fill and Sign Pane except for the Work with Certificates accordion. When forms are opened, the Fill and Sign Pane does not auto open.

11.0.16: Disables all Acrobat Sign features.
