Opening PDFs in Reader

To open a PDF:

  1. Get the PDF on your device via any application.
  2. Tap or long press the PDF file.
  3. Tap the Send to icon: mp_share_iOS_20_n_lt from one of the following applications:
  4. Choose Open in....
  5. Tap the Open in Adobe Reader icon: iconsmall

You can also sync and open your files from iTunes.

Email

  1. Open the email with the PDF attachment.
  2. Long press the attachment or tap the Send to icon: mp_share_iOS_20_n_lt
  3. Choose Open in Adobe Reader.

Safari

  1. Tap the Send to icon in the top bar mp_share_iOS_20_n_lt
  2. Choose Open in Adobe Reader.

File sharing services

  1. Open your file sharing service. For example, Box.net, Dropbox, GDrive, or SkyDrive.
  2. Select a PDF.
  3. Tap the Send to icon: mp_share_iOS_20_n_lt
  4. Choose Open in Adobe Reader.

iBooks

iBooks does not provide a simple way to open iBooks PDFs with other PDF viewers. However, you can make PDFs accessible to Reader by forwarding the PDF to yourself via email:

  1. Tap the Send to icon: mp_share_iOS_20_n_lt
  2. Email the file to yourself.
  3. Open the file as described in Email.

Desktop iTunes

  1. Attach your device to your computer.
  2. Open iTunes.
  3. In the left-hand column, choose Devices > (your device).
  4. Choose Apps from the top menu.
  5. Scroll down to File Sharing at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Select Adobe Reader from the list.
  7. Drag-and-drop your PDF files to and from the area on the right or choose Add.
  8. Choose Sync. Your PDF files are now on your device and will appear in the Documents list.
