Adobe AIR Developer Center for HTML and Ajax

Getting started

Follow these steps to start building your first HTML/Ajax application on Adobe AIR:

1. Download the Adobe AIR runtime.

   You need the runtime to launch AIR applications.

2. Download and install an IDE with AIR support:

   • Aptana Studio or
   • Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 with Adobe AIR Extension for Dreamweaver CS3

   Note: If you prefer working with a text editor, use the Adobe AIR SDK. The AIR SDK includes all the tools you need to test and package AIR applications.

3. Familiarize yourself with the core concepts of developing applications for the desktop:

   • (Aptana Studio users) Getting Started with Adobe AIR development
   • (Dreamweaver CS3 users) Create your first HTML-based Adobe AIR application with Dreamweaver CS3
   • (Adobe AIR SDK users) Create your first HTML-based Adobe AIR application with the Adobe AIR SDK
