Adobe AIR Developer Center for Flex

Getting started

Follow these steps to start building your first Flex application on Adobe AIR:

1. Download the Adobe AIR runtime.

   You need the runtime to launch AIR applications.

2. Download and install Adobe Flex Builder 3 or the Flex 3 SDK.

   Flex Builder 3 is an Eclipse-based development environment that provides a rich set of tools to help speed app creation. The Flex 3 SDK enables you to build and debug Flex applications built on AIR.

3. Familiarize yourself with the core concepts of developing and deploying applications for the desktop:

   • Creating your first AIR application with Flex Builder 3
   • Creating your first AIR application with the Flex 3 SDK
   • Distributing and updating applications
   • Getting started with the custom install badge
