Flickr Floater

Flickr Floater is an image upload application that blends both online and offline worlds. It uses key Adobe AIR features, including the embedded SQLite database, online/offline connectivity detection, file management, drag-and-drop support, and native menus.

Adobe sample application
The following sample application will help you get started using Adobe AIR. These are basic applications built by Adobe engineers to demonstrate the capabilities of the runtime. By downloading the sample applications listed below you confirm that you have read and agree to the terms of the Adobe AIR SDK License.

Apprise (Updated for Adobe AIR 1.1)

Apprise is an RSS reader that works online and offline. It features automatic categorization by author and topic, OPML import and export of feeds, real-time search, site view and check mark support, advanced sorting, and support for RSS and ATOM. The user interface has been localized into 11 languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

Employee Directory

This sample application functions as a lightweight desktop search tool for employee information. The application is designed to be easily modified for real-world use, and demonstrates the Adobe AIR embedded SQLite API, File API, offline capabilities, windowing functionality, and binary file support.

Lineup

When you’re in a hurry, getting access to your calendaring information quickly is essential. With Lineup, you can view and browse your Exchange calendar. Note that this application requires that you have access to and connection information for an Exchange server.

PixelPerfect

This sample application enables you to measure the size of objects on your desktop. It leverages several AIR APIs that let you to create, resize, move, and close windows.

S3E

This sample application provides a simple user interface for reading, writing, and deleting files stored on Amazon’s S3 data storage services. S3E takes advantage of the AIR runtime's clipboard and drag-and-drop APIs. Please note that you must create an Amazon S3 account to obtain an access key ID and secret access key in order to use this application.

Salesbuilder
Developer: Christophe Coenraets
Salesbuilder is a Sales Force Automation application written in Flex and deployed on the Adobe AIR runtime. It demonstrates local persistence using the embedded SQLite database, data synchronization, native drag-and-drop support, and direct chart manipulation.

Scout

This app gives web developers the ability to look inside a web page. Scout takes advantage of the HTML capabilities of Adobe AIR to inspect a page as it's rendered on the client.

ScreenBoard

This sample app enables you to draw directly on your desktop using multiple transparent windows and a variety of preset tools. It lets you configure your own drawing tools to highlight specific items currently on the desktop.

SPF
Developer: Christian Cantrell
Similar to a screensaver, SPF is a Flex-based application that will display a slideshow of images based on a few parameters, including a transition interval, idle interval, and a picture folder. When the slideshow is invoked, it will display images in full screen mode.

Timeslide
Developer: Christian Cantrell
Building notifications into your applications is a powerful way to alert users of critical events such as a new instant message or blog post. Timeslide allows you to display system notifications that fade in and out based on a time interval and a user-specified message.

XML Viewer
Developer: Karl Matthews
This sample application is built on AIR in Flex with less than 300 lines of code. The code is all in MXML, with some ActionScript, and Adobe AIR is used to package and deliver the application. The design could easily be adapted for other document viewer applications.

Agile Agenda

Agile Agenda is a project management application designed to make managing projects a whole lot easier. It includes an automatic schedule optimizer that takes multiple tasks, dependencies, and resource constraints into consideration, allows online viewing by any of the project members, and also includes the ability to generate a PDF file with a detailed project status update and individualized task list for all members working on a project.

SearchCoders
Developers: Tom Bray and Robert Cadena
This Adobe AIR application combines a wide variety of ways for accessing information that a Flex developer would find useful, including a forum reader, blog reader, a chat client, a notepad, and bookmarks. Some of the unique features that Adobe AIR enables include a live preview of the application directly on the SearchCoders website, mixing of multiple network data sources, and a sophisticated user interface that appears to float just above the desktop.

Digimix
Developer: Alan Queen
Digimix is a 5-track audio mixer that takes WAV files and allows them to be blended together to create an entirely new audio experience. It also provides an extensible architecture for audio effects such as feedback and track separation. All of this is implemented in ActionScript 3.0, providing a great demonstration of the speed and power of the virtual machine in Adobe AIR.
