Exporting your Adobe Captivate project to Flash

Configuring Flash for editing Adobe Captivate content

Adobe included all Adobe Captivate–specific Flash class files in the Adobe Captivate install directory. This means that you can recreate all the functionality in Adobe Captivate in your Flash installation. To use these files, you need to make sure they are included in the ActionScript 2.0 compile path.

The easiest way to do this is to copy the following files (based on a default Adobe Captivate 2 installation):

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2\ActionScript\AdobeCaptivate
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2\ActionScript\MMQuizzingV3

to the Flash classes file directory under your installation of Flash MX 2004 or Flash 8:

C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\First Run\Classes\AdobeCaptivate
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\First Run\Classes\MMQuizzingV3

Note: For Mac OS, these path names are as follows:

[Mac HD]/Applications/Macromedia Flash 8/First Run/Classes/AdobeCaptivate
[Mac HD]/Applications/Macromedia Flash 8/First Run/Classes/MMQuizzingV3

Copying the Adobe Captivate class files ensures that your Adobe Captivate project will compile and run when it is imported into Flash.

Important Note: Do not change any of the class filenames or content in these directories. Changing an Adobe Captivate class file can cause your project to stop functioning altogether.
