Using Captivate Simulations in Questionmark Perception Assessments

By using Questionmark Perception with Macromedia Captivate, you can use an animation to create an interactive test for participants rather than just asking a question. You can also use Perception’s facilities for scheduling tests, making the tests secure, and creating reports that analyze participants’ performance.

You use the Perception authoring software for creating questions and assessments and use scheduling to manage the delivery of material to participants. After users take the assessment, you can analyze their performance with reporting.

In this tutorial, I give an overview of how you can use simulations created with Macromedia® Captivate in assessments created with Questionmark Perception.

Specifically, this tutorial guides you through the key steps of:

  • Creating a Captivate simulation
  • Adding questions to it
  • Exporting it for use with Perception
  • Using it in Perception

Requirements

To complete this tutorial you will need to install the following software and files:

Copy the captivate.template file to the \authoring\templates\ folder of your Perception authoring software installation.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

  • Macromedia Captivate
