It is essential that you test your learning object with WBT Manager as early as possible. This section explains how to use reports to check whether your learning objects communicate correctly with WBT Manager.
Before you can test your new course you must assign it to a learner. WBT Manager comes with a demonstration learner pre-installed to provide an example for you to follow. The demonstration learner's login ID and password are both demo.
Beginning with version 1.8, you can configure WBT Manager's student hierarchy to have up to five organizational levels above the individual student. Previous versions of WBT Manager grouped individual learners into just two organizational levels. The new hierarchy makes it easier to track large groups of learners and allows for decentralized administration of the registration and course enrollment processes. The hierarchy is reflected in the structure of the navigation tree.
Student records include any courses in which the individual learners are enrolled. These courses are displayed under the individual learner’s names on the navigation tree. Figure 1 shows the expanded the Demo Organization hierarchy and the demonstration learner.

WBT Manager provides comprehensive reporting on learner progress and results with the learning content. Typically the learners are able to access reports on their own progress, while individuals who have administrative privileges are able to access more detailed information.
You may remember from Part 1 that WBT Manager has three separate user interfaces:
To use the WBT Manager reporting facilities for debugging the learning object, you access the System Administrator interface and the Learner interface. You have already used the System Administrator interface in Part 1 and also in the previous section, to assign the course to the demonstration learner.
Next you will use the Learner Interface to generate some results data for your learning object. So you will log on as the demonstration learner and launch the learning object.
