Introduction ********************************************** The SDK provides information and examples for the scripting interface to Adobe Device Central project feature. The SDK defines a scripting interface for the ExtendScript language. For this (2.0.0) release the SDK highlights the following: - Enable developers to add additional export options to Adobe Device Central project feature. ********************************************** 2. SDK content overview ********************************************** The SDK contents include the following: - /Documents/ADC SDK Guide.pdf: Describes the SDK and how to extend the functionality of Adobe Device Central project feature. - /Documents/ADC SDK Reference.pdf: The Scripting API reference for Adobe Device Central. - /Documents/JavaScript Tools Guide CS4.pdf: The Adobe JavaScript reference. - /Documents/adat.xsd: XML schema - /Documents/task.xsd: XML schema - /Sample Plugins/: Sample plug-ins and demonstration code. - /Sample Web Service/catalog/: Sample web service application to use with the Sent to Web sample plug-in. ********************************************** 3. Development environment ********************************************** You can use any text based editor to write your XML configuration files. For ExtendScript scripts we recommend the use of the ExtendScript Development Toolkit. Sample Plugins ********************************************** The SDK provides the following samples: - /Sample Plugins/HelloWorld/: Sample code that accompanies the Getting Started section of the Device Central CS4 SDK Programmers Guide. - /Sample Plugins/CreateZip/: Sample plug-in that demonstrates how to use the different UI components and export resources to an archive file. - /Sample Plugins/SendToWeb/: Sample plug-in that demonstrates how to export resources to a Web Service. - /Sample Plugins/Metadata/: Sample plug-in that demonstrates how to read and modify XMP metadata in SWF resources. ********************************************** 5. Running the plug-ins ********************************************** To run the sample code you must place the plug-in in a location that Adobe Device Central looks in for new plug-ins. You will need to copy or move the sample plug-ins to this predefined location.
