You can simultaneously create Flash content for desktop computers and mobile devices by using Flash Professional 8. Let's start with a simple example in ActionScript 2.0, which is Flash content for desktops, and walk you through the steps of converting it to Flash Lite 1.1.
Simply moving an object isn't all that appealing, so I'll create an example by adding some interesting elements (see Figure 1).

Those of you that have played a lot of games may remember "Last Devil," a character with a big face that fills almost the entire screen, has irregular movements, and gets showered with bullets. This is the scene I'm going to create. You can find the completed working version of this application in the sample file download linked to at the beginning of this article.
Now I'll review the steps involved in creating the elements shown in Figure 1. After creating them with ActionScript 2.0 I'll create them with Flash Lite 1.1.
